Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
The pregnancy was smooth- I did see a high risk OB once a trimester. I asked my weight loss MD for blood work every 6 weeks (which she totally agreed to). eVERYTHING was where it needed to be. My daughter was 6 pounds, 1 oz. I asked my OB if it was because of the surgery and she said it wasnt.
I will tell you that the emotional component after GBS, then getting pregnant was awful. TO see yourself get "thin" and then watch the numbers on the scale go up, and your belly and boobs getting big..... it was very hard for me. I did get some counseling, for that reason alone.
Drop me a line if you have anymore questions!
