My gastric bypass surgery was July 16th. I was on a liquid diet for two weeks, then has nothing by mouth for 4 days post op. Now, I'm home, on clear liquids and 2 protein drinks a day and have lost a total of 2 pounds. How is that even possible?? 2 pounds?? I eat NOTHING, I drink water, low calorie juice, broth, sugarfree protein drinks--what else can I do? How is is this even possible? I know a woman who got home from surgery and within a few days was down 12 pounds!!! I'm scared to death my body will be one of the rare one's that just says, "I'm in starvation mode and I'm not giving up one damn pound!" That would be hideous... I would die. This is all so hard; the food withdrawl, the dumping if I drink too fast, the weakness, the fatigue...now this? This cannot be happening to me. I know it's just 10 days but it's TEN DAYS!!!! What is wrong with me????? I'm a registered nurse: I know what is suppose to be happening on an physiological level----why am I the freak who can't lose? I know there is nothing I can change: I don't touch sugar--have not eaten a thing, am up and moving as much as I can be.... What is happening to me. I will die if this surgery was for nothing. I know my metabolism has suffered with years of abuse with 100 pound weight losses and immediate regains. My body is pissed! And it's not gonna take much more abuse from me, I know. But damn. I did this. I had the surgery. I followed the rules. I couldn't cheat if I wanted to---and I don't want to! Auuuugggghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

BUT.... I feel like my visits are not what they use to be. He...

My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
