Have you ever read something over and over and all of a sudden, something pops out at you and takes on a new meaning? I had one of those moments. I was reading the GA book, something that I have read many times in the past and the phrase "this is a progressive disease" just popped out and hit me upside the head. I never really thought about that or what that meant before. It is so true, it is progressive. I think there was always a hope that you can get it under control and somehow go back to gambling but this is an actual disease. It gets worse. I don't know, maybe it's just me but that scared the crap out of me. Just thought I would put that out there and see what you guys thought.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

that happens to me from time to time...
when i first started attending g.a. the line that struck a chord with me was "the depths of their misery were fathomless"
yeah...I knew fathomless misery...that was the only thing that I connected with for a long time.
then....from time to time (depending on what's going on with ME i think) something else will 'speak' to me....and a light bulb will go on...I will have an aha moment...
a friend of mine says "yep, that combo book just keeps getting smarter and smarter!"

I can understand why this 'new knowledge' would scare the crap out of you....
but....on the bright side...you are learning...growing...changing....
