No one among us has been able to maintain anything like perfect adherence to these principles. We are not saints. The point is, that we are willing to grow along spiritual lines. We claim spiritual progress rather than spiritual perfection. The members who wrote the steps were wise enough to understand that to live up to these standards would be hard for any person regardless of there addiction, but it is in the trying the steps the recovery begins and can be maintained, better to fall up the steps than fall down them, take care all who reads this.
