That it is almost 17 months ago my sister was found brutally murdered in her home. I find it hard to believe that almost a year after an arrest was made we still haven't had a trial. I find it hard to believe the deputy prosecutor assigned to my sister's case was fired for not doing his job. I find it hard to believe he would care so little about family and loved ones of his victims. I find it hard to believe that because of his not doing his job, we may now face yet another continuance. I find it hard to believe that family after family have endured this justice system for years and years. I don't find it hard to believe that those that have never been through it don't know and understand all it entails. 18 months ago, I didn't give much of a thought to the justice system, let alone the poor families waiting for justice to be served.
So my friends, I hope you only have to learn from my experience and never ever have to experience it first hand. It's difficult to find the words that describe all the feelings, thoughts and emotions I go through. I find it hard to believe.......still.
