I had my home study at the end of September 2008 and I'm still waiting for a license. 4 months, so I'm expecing something to happen pretty soon. Sitting and waiting is making me think that I should be spending this time preparing, but I don't know what I don't know. I said that I wanted a girl from 5 to 10 years old. I have neices that I see occassionally, but other than that I don't know much about kids and what's cool. I'd like to accumulate some stuff in advance, but I'm afraid to buy anything that won't be liked - like pink if she's a tomboy and likes blue, etc. I'm reading books and learning, but what's the best way to prepare for this?

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips.
