To make my spaghetti and meatballs I use ground beef about a pound and a half. I package of onion soup mix. some Italian bread crumbs, 1 egg, ground black pepper. Onion powder, Garlic powder. Cajun seasoning, dried basil. A little sugar. 1 jar of chunky garden style spaghetti sauce. I like ragu but my grocery store brand is pretty good to. 1 small box of spaghetti noodles. I like to use the low carb noodles made by dream fields taste like regular spaghetti noodles but they are more figure friendly and Diabetic friendly than regular pasta.I start off by pouring the spaghetti sauce into the pan. I add a little sugar to the sauce to kill the acid not a lot I don't want the sauce really sweet about 1 table spoon of sugar for the entire pot of spaghetti sauce. I also add a little onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper and basil and a little cajun seasoning. I let the sauce sit on top of the stove without turning it on. I mix the ground beef, onion soup mix, garlic powder, egg, bread crumbs, black pepper, cajun seasoning all together and form meat balls. Then I add the formed raw meatballs to the sauce I have on top of the stove. I cover the pot and let the sauce slowly simmer and let the meatballs cook. In a separate pot I put some water, salt and oil in the pot and bring it up to a boil before I add the spaghetti noodles. Then once the sauce and meatballs are cooked and the noodles are cooked I drain the noodles and put some in a plate and top it with the meatballs and sauce and serve.
I browned up 2 onions and 3 large diced carrots with ground beef, and seasonings (salt, pepper, Whoreshire, a bit red pepper), then made mashed potatoes and served it on top. Turned out really good.Would have been good to add peas or corn too. Also I don't have any tomato paste on hand, but a Tablespoon or so of that would have been good too.
I'm working on going Vegan I think I have the Vegetarian thing a bit more down packed. I bake well. And I was wondering how to bake Vegan without eggs. I know I can use almond milk and other milk substitutes. I can also use Vegan or butter substitutes. Oil is ok flour is ok sugar is ok but what do Vegan bakers substitute for eggs when baking? I make a fabulous pumpkin pie but I don't know how to...
