Hello all! I am new to this site, but have been reading it for a few days. You all have a lot of great info and helpful experiences to draw from. Within the last year, I have lost a total of 47 pounds, and taken my exercise routine from almost nothing to running 3-4 miles 3x a week. (4x if I can get it in) A friend of mine recently asked if I would consider running a 1/2 marathon with her. I am very excited to give it a shot, and now I am in the process of trying to figure out a good workout plan so I can train for it. Any advice? My thoughts were to begin increasing my distance 1-2 days a week by 1 mile. Then in a couple weeks adding another mile and so on. Eventually building up to a consistent distance of 10 miles a couple times a week and 1 day devoted to rest with moderate strength training. I would love to hear your thoughts and advice. Or if any of you have already done this, please let me know about your own personal experience. Take care!
