I have been busy for the last 2 and 1/2 years, losing weight. This year I have made a real push to add activity to my life. And I hope that I will get the rest of my weight off this year. I am hiking with a 27# pack for about 2 hours a day and also bicycling for some added enjoyment. The hiking is really good exercise. The weighted pack seems to pull weight off my body. I just returned from a 1 month hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail. I wanted to go the whole 2174 miles but I'm still to heavy to do that. It put a lot of strain on my feet. I made it 136 miles. Back at home now and working hard to get in shape so that maybe I can try again some day. Also would like to try a few other things. I really want to be able to enjoy an active lifestyle, like I had when I was young, and that is what is driving my success right now.

I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
