Does anyone else out here on this site have a goal to GAIN WEIGHT in their list of goals? I'm very underweight and out of shape... I also have anxiety disorder which is one reason I am underweight. I have no idea where to start (and please don't say start eatting cause I do). I don't know what kinds of exercise are best for me, what to avoid, what to eat to help or what to avoid... I'm at a loss... I'm new to all of this and all I know is my goals are to: gain weight, get some muscle tone, increase my energy and endurance, improve my immune system and quit looking so pale and ghostly (last part is an over exaggeration in my own mind I know but that is how I feel on the inside).
Anyone out there who can direct me a little bit and help me know where to start?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
The books is basically, "eat these 12 foods, eat several times a day, exercise, and thats it". As simple and naive as that might sound, I've been using it for several months and have dropped 25 pounds and gained some more muscle.
Here's an article of some of whats in the book: http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article.do?site=menshealth&channel=nutrition&category=abs.diet&conitem=b72a99edbbbd201099edbbbd2010cfe793cd____
You should also get into weight training, I think. Weight training will help you gain a lot of muscle. I would join a gym and start maybe looking at books for women, or if you have enough money get a trainer, preferably a girl (because seriously, most men don't know sh!t about female anatomy and physiology in weight training).
Its just a suggestion, but I think it could really help you gain weight and get healthier. I hope you get to that point you want to! :)
Have you thought about eating 3 meals then having ensure inbetween? lots of healthy vitamins in there and I would do more cardio even though it burns cals its good for your heart!
There are plenty of sites to get some ideas, but then consult your dr and see if your ideas are proper for your current health conditions.
Here's one site that can start you off:
