Hello, all. I am overweight and in less than optimal physical shape. However, I have always had at least a passing interest in the military and there have been times that the only thing that kept me from signing up was my physical condition. I have just over a year left until college is completed and I'm considering it as a viable option for the transition. I was wondering if anyone might be able to give me some tips on what kind of basic workout I can do to start getting back into shape. Eventually I'd like to try some climbing, as well. I don't want to start out with too much too fast, but a the same time, I'd like to be in the shape to do a run of about a mile within a few months. I don't think it's an unreasonable goal. Any suggestions?

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
