My husband and I divorced in June 2007. I got the house and the mortgage, he got the equity line of credit (which at the time I didn't know was an equity line of credit tied to the house). He says that he has paid it down, but I checked today and it is at the credit limit. He is using it as he pleases. The house is in my name only, the mortgage is in my name only, and I am thinking about selling in the next year or so, but I don't want to use the equity in my house to pay off his loan. Any suggestions?
