quite a catch-22. i'm in the same boat as many others, with no place to turn.
about 2 1/2 years ago, i opened my front door and was attacked. i was hit in my lower left jaw, breaking most of the teeth on my lower left and 2 on my upper right.
i have been everywhere trying to get help. i have contacted the local dental society, been to the local dental college, contacted local and national 'charity' organizations, etc. etc. etc. and even if i had insurance, i still can't afford the work that i need to have done. i can't lose weight because i can't eat properly (at least not in a healthy way) and i can't get a job because of my disability. (yea, yea..but go and actually apply for a job and as soon as they hear the word "disabled", suddenly the position is filled or they are no longer hiring, something.
so what do i do?? where do i turn? i have offered to do what i can physically to help pay for the work i need (filing, writing, whatever) and i have gone to every source i know that is out there but there's just nothing available for dental services. does anyone have any new ideas or suggestions?? i'm to the point of desperate now. and i'm so discouraged. you'd think with the news of how inflammation affects the body and how important what you eat is, that along with other medical assistance, there would be dental. sigh....... thanks ahead.

How frustrating--it's like being victimized twice. Was the attacker someone you knew? Was there a polic report? Does your state have a victim's recovery/restitution program to cover the repair work? Good luck.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
