I don't know if anyone has been in this situation but, what do you do if your spouse is breaking the law? How do you protect your name and money when you are still married and can't afford a divorce? Is there a way to do it? My brother in laws wife is in another state bouncing checks all over the place. He is here dealing with the bank. He can not stop her. And the bank is after him. He is disabled and can not afford an attorney. I checked on legal aid but they only take calls for divorce cases 2 days a month and only the first 7 calls of the day. So our chances of going that route seems very slim. How can he protect himself when she is the one breaking the law?
