Ok, I need some suggestions, any and all are appreciated, seriously.
My husband and I had no health insurance. We were in a bad accident. My husband was seriously injured but recovering slooooowly. We have hundreds of thousands in medical bills. It was not our fault but the insurance company is dragging it's feet. We have a lawyer but it has been 5 months so the medical bills are starting to turn us over to collections.
What I have done: Making small monthly payments but with over 20 different bills it is impossible to make even a decent monthly payment to each. I have applied for charity payments on the hospital bills (3 different ones) Still waiting on responses. Lawyer says to tell collections his name and number and they should back off, it works about half the time. Doesn't help the dropping credit rate though, does it?
My real question is what about in the end....after the girl's insurance finally pays whatever they will and it doesn't even touch the medical bills? What do we do then? I know this is a bit pessimistic but the girl wasn't rich, I know that much. I imagine she only had the avg car insurance.
I am scared. Any suggestions?????? FYI, I am in Virginia, USA.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
