I work as a bartender/waitress and my pay is different every night/every week/every month. This constant change really hurts me financially because I can't budget at all. I have some debt of about $3,000 and some hospital bills but I never want to pay on it for fear of not having enough for rent or whatever that is to come. I don't know how to get rid of this debt and since I just graduated in august, I will have to start paying student loans soon as well. I have thought about some of those consolidation places but everytime someone refers me to one my debt isn't high enough. Obviously, I would like to get a better, higher paying job but until that happens this is all I've got.
I am sure that as I stop drinking I will have a lot more money but everything is just piling up and I simply can't afford it. I have no health insurance and I've needed glasses for years now.
If you know of anything that has worked for you, please post. Any cost saving advice would be helpful to me. As I am starting to get my other problems under control, I am realizing I am in a financial mess and I just want to fix it before it gets any worse.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Part 1- this is what you put towards food, gas and other living expenses (soap, laundry, cleaners, make-up, etc).
Part 2- Put this in a box or bank account. This is the money you spend on bills. Rent, medical, phone, etc.
Part 3- this goes into a savings (box/ account) and you DO NOT TOUCH IT! You only use it if it is a really bad month and you can't live without it. (running out of food and no food money, need gas to get to work, etc)
Now the bills! Pay what you MUST HAVE first! Rent would be in that. Electric is a need. Phone would be nice, but you can live without it. After that, pay every medical bill a little something. We are paying ours off from smallest to largest. I had been paying every one of my medical bills $1 payments. At least if it goes to court, we can prove we are attempting to pay.
http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com has great ideas for food budgets. She has a lot of great ideas for saving money too. There is a $45 menu and a $70 menu as well. I managed to feed my family of 4 on $30 a week for months when it got tight enough. It was hard, but it is possible.
Good luck! And I hope this helped.
