Hey, all! Happy 30th birthday ot the marvelous application known as the World Wide Web!
The original World Wide Web was an app. Yep. An app. It allowed sites on the internet to interact, interface and all that inter-stuff, and more importantly, allowed *users* to do so. Some people call the internet "the infrastructure" and the web is "the service provided" (that is, information/entertainment), but at any rate...
W W W... you guessed it... World Wide Web!
In 1983, the nerds began assembling the mother of all networks (or "network of all networks", to be nerdily precise) and finally in 1989 came the application World Wide Web to give everyone easier access and more flexible platforms for presenting stuff. The creation of HTML, and seeing HTTP, and so on... Is another story. Long version is shortened to: HTML is a language, and the HTTPs are the hypertext transfer protocol "cues" that tell your computer it's looking online and not on the hard drive. HTML is Hypertext Markup Language and basically is how you make a web page. (Windows for Dummies took a whole chapter for that. You're welcome.)
Anyway... Today, it's thirty years since WWW was born and I sat reading a nerd mag wondering, "I wonder if this really will be a big worldwide 'web' thing or not?".... Yeah. Look a the address bar of your browser. Yep. It really is!
And without it, we'd not be talking, so... Whew!
Rotten night but no news there, and hope we see improvements all around in everyone's condition(s). No more migraines, viruses, aches, pains, strains, or banes!

Whatevs. We have video of our cat Dixie trying to kill birds on the TV screen, but I can't get it to upload (hence the deletions) so just imagine a cat trying to bite a flatscreen TV and being quite miffed she couldn't get the bird!Today we see the genetics counselor about getting Hubby checked fo rgenes that could...
