Well, turns out DS was kicking a LOT of us out of here yesterday ------ me, some CLs, memberes in general, you name it. Why? They never have said, but hey, we're back. (For now!)
So, dumbest things said about some National Parks here adn abroad, courtesy google reviews:
US Shenandoah National Park: "nothing to do unless you get out of the car"
US Bryce Canyon: "it rained thought it was a desert" (well, yes, but even deserts get a bit of rain)
US Grand Canyon National Park: "too big" (Hence, the fact it's not itty-bitty canyon...)
UK Peaks National District: "too many rocks"
US Hatteras Natoinal Seashore: "no beaches" (note: seashore there is dunes and saltwater wildlife preserve, it's on the brochure)
US Badlands: "nothing scary happened"
UK New Forest: "just really old trees and no flowers" (again, it's on the pamphlet!)
Australia Uluru: "big boring rock so what"
And that's how you know 1. people drove on trips a lot in 2020 and 2. they probably expected something like an amusement park out of things
My fave, however, remains Yellowstone: "none of the rocks were yellow"
Hae a good weekend! :-)
Rant, folks. Even if all you got is sajfla;esrjf qewoqup gdsal erwgjlads;afjlfdjaskl;fj as you slap the keyboard! (Actually, Dahlia did part of that.)Mine: Day SIX of cramps, bleeding, etc., but I'm still somehow "within normal range for my age". WHO WROTE THAT BOOK AND WHERE CAN I FIND THEM? I'v ecalled 1800 numbers even, and I'm pretty desperate if I'm calling the HMO's 1-800 number and...
1. Those squirrel-repelling birdfeeders where they spin? Yeah, squirrels just tink that's an amusement park ride. Got one. Been watching our squirrels have a great time since. They're ignoring food on the ground to go spinning. *sigh*2. Australia's Olympic team apparently trashed their rooms, and for some reason, their mascot kangaroo and emu went missing, only to be returned. Okay then.... Why...
