Hello. I just joined this group. I haven't been officially diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I'm getting bloodwork to rule out autoimmune diseases. But if it comes back negative, I have a feeling she's going to say it's fibromyalgia.
I had back surgery a few years ago and was nearly bedbound before surgery. I had surgery May 2017.
So I figured my all over pain was from finally being active again. But it's been getting worse even as my back gets better and stronger. And I started having upper body pain at the same time as my lower back but they never diagnose the reason for that. I recently saw a neurologist who is trying to rule out auto immune disorders.
There have been a couple of nights where I've been in so much pain, every single muscle of my body hurt. Even my toes.
Last night, it took one tramadol and three ibuprofen just to lay down comfortably in bed. And it's like my skin is crawling for the past day and a half. Like my clothes actually hurt. I think that's happened before but everything else was so intense that I ignored it. Last night and today it's really hard to ignore. I had to take my clothes off in my apartment and walk around naked. That's how much it hurt.
So out of curiosity, I put my symptoms in the mayo clinic symptom checker. I know, I should probably stay away from those things. But I was curious to see what would come up, thinking it might suggest a possible autoimmune disorder.
Fibromyalgia came up first. I didn't know anything about what fibromyalgia other than it being a pain disorder. So I started looking up fibromyalgia and have literally all but one symptom. And I have every cooccuring disorder listed.
History of physical or psychological abuse
Mood disorders like depression and anxiety
Restless Legs Syndrome
Widespread pain with no obvious cause
Prone to tension headaches and migraines
Constant fatigue and never feeling rested
Pain that is particularly bad in the back of your head and neck
The only thing I didn't have was TMJ. I've been dealing with the rest for years.
I will find out in Monday what the bloodwork says if anything. But I have a strong feeling it won't show up as autoimmune
