GOod mroning! And hell ofrom
OK, cat is off lpt
OK, both cats are off me and the laptop. Latest trick: Both sit on me at once. THat's about 22 pounds of cat (figure 10 kg for our metric friends). Geez! Love them, but last night Dahlia stuck a foot in Dixie's face while sleeping on me and then World War Cat broke out. OUCH. Memo to self: Wear plate armor when "relaxing"???
It's gonna snow here. Can you believe it? SNOW. I didn't think we'd see any till... uh... a time machine came along and took me back to the past? Sorry. I live in the US SOuth. My idea of "snow" and the native idea are very different.
Snow for me: "We got 2 feet overnight? Oh. OK. Get up at 430AM, shovel things out b/c the snowblower died *again*, not that it matters, we still have to shovel most of it, especially... yep, plows went by! Well, that's the morning run. They'll be back after I get home from school and I can shovel out the driveway end again. Thank God we live on the road where they built the township building or we'd never see plows... Geez, it's cold. OK, Dad, yeesh, we're allowed to eat before we shovel... This isn't boot camp... Mom said so... Yeah, here we go. Ugh, the wet heavy stuff... And bend th eknees, shove in the blade, lift, turn, drop to the side, repeat..." And around 6 AM, shower, eat again if we had the food, and be ready for school by 7AM, all non-snow chores included. School? "Ah, this is nice, I get to sit!"
Snow here: "They're predicting two inches, it's the end of the universe, cancel everything except breathing!"
In fairness, only federal roads (US Routes and Interstates) will be plowed during snow. State and local roads... eh, if it doens't melt or it's "bad" or... Eventually! About 10 years ago, we had 23 inches overnight *here* in Virginia and it took a month to get th enearest four-lane road (state route whatever) actually *plowed*. A guy in a pick-up plows my road, or we'd never get out! The one joy of an HOA: Those monthly dues do mean we have road plowing and patching and such covered, b/c if we wait for the county/state? No.
That said, it'll melt by tomorrow noon at latest. Ground hasn't frozen at my elevation. Little higher up, yes. Here, no. I'm cool, not cold!
Many hugs and soft cuddly day to all. SOrry to ramble!
Hey, all. Our barely-chance-of-rain became a severe two-hour thunderstorm with flash flooding and such. I was up late calming kitties and making sure our gutters didn't drown us and more, so... after a whole 3 1/2 hours of "sleep", I am going back to bed. After I inform you that for some reason...Wnat to sleep better? The best sleep habits known to data-trackers are those of European nations,...
