Here's a youtube vid of what my cats' lives are like --- I own 6 Hexbug nanos and two cats. And this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAsGCJmX_w4 doesn't even com eclose. I just had to pull Dixie out from behind the TV cabinet, which, btw, is a ten-pound space into which her 12-pound majesty managed to fit! She'll play for a straight 30 minutes for a Hexbug nano toy. I glued a tiny set of fake bug wings gto two of mine (from goofy Halloween insects of Hubby's) and Dixie thinks those are the BEST toy ever.
I was inspired to o this when my one neighbor finally clued in his pit bull was not *playing* after it took his grandson's robot T-rex dinosaur and turned it into scrap. Yes, the same pit bull that once attacked me and mine. He got the idea to use a remote0controlled truck for the dog to chase and "hunt" to wear it out. And now it only chases... you guessed it... *headdesk* actual cars. *sigh* At any rate, the idea of a robot toy for the cats hit me, and here we are.
In 1946 on this date? Mound Metalcraft changed its name to Tonka Toys. Anyone else remember Tonka trucks? *raises hand* I wanted one sooooo bad! Never did have one, but... Eh. I obviously survived!
In 1961, the capital of the Dominican Republic was changed from Ciudad Trujillo to Santo Domingo. It tells you how crappy out of date my world history book in high school was that the book still had it as Ciudad Trujillo till my cousin graduated there in the 1990s. Amending those books for factual accuracy was done --- I joke not --- by stapling in bits of paper to the relevant pages. The dang textbooks by my time were nothing but staples and bits. By the time my cousin got there, I don't know why they bothered at all, and neither did he!
In 2001, the largest *known* football stadium crowd in Texas (USA) was recorded when the Texas Longhorns took on the Texas A&M Aggies 21-7. The recorded attendance was 87,555. I firmlyb elieve this is wrong. I have met Texans. I think that some game had to have had over 100,000, and it probably was high school at that, and I don't just say that b/c of "Friday Night Lights"...
BUT interestingly the highest crowd for a pro game was in 2011, in Dallas, Texas. People: 105,121. That's in the US< btw. A preseason match between teams in Mexico City in the 1990s drew higher.
And IIRC, the Giants under Eli Manning took the game in 2011, thus irritating the Dallas Cowboys-NYGiants rivals even more than usual, but I could be mistkaen. (I know one of y'all will correct me if I am wrong, please do so!)
And today... I'm feeling like this flu might be getting its ass kicked, if not today, then tomorrow. Woot for Grandma's soup, and that disgusting-as-can-be tea. (I swear, it doesn't cure me, I just feel better b/c I finally get to stop drinking it. Mint, sage, lemon, ginger. Down that, and you know you're desperate!)
Hugs to all!
And shout-outs to all, as well:-)
Good morning!Today I was reading up on this year's flu outbreak. It's not A-strain-dominated (y'know, our usual H-N friensd.) This year, looks like the uS is getting hit by B/VIctoria --- which isn't dangerous per se, but certainly isn't the usual "dominant" flu. So far, over 60 percent up to 70 percent of flu cases tested for strain? Yep. B/Victoria. (Named for Victoria, Australia.) And, be...
