Good morning! And it's been morning for me for a while. Alas.
Four hours of sleep. Down at midnight (finally! the muscle relaxant kicked in and my back unkinked!)... and up when it wore off. Four hours. Ping! I see the doc again ASAP, but ASAP means "stand by for his phone call and run out door". Oh boy... As it's the weekend, I predict I will need another round of scar-scanning and so forth. Scarring versus muscle. In my case, scarring wins if the muscle is injured badly enough. And, of course, mine was torn. So here I still am.
So this weekend in history... I try not to think about personal history.
Today in 1939, the film "The Wizard of Oz" made its big premiere. While the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" made star Judy Garland a bigger star... the film itself wasn't a hit. It had big competition that year, true, but also, people didn't like how far from the original book material it strayed. Critics loved it, but it performed "meh" at theaters. Then in 1956, TV started airing it every spring around Easter, and now it's one of the most popoular movies of all time.
Lee Trevino got his first professional hole-in-one today in 1973. Some people are stillw aiting for their first one at any level, mini-golf (putt-putt) included... Just sayin'.
In 1992, Woody Allen of film fame admitted he was romantically involved with the barely-legal adopted daughter of his longtime girlfriend, Mia Farrow. Talk about a kick in the...
And in 1859, they attempted mail delivery via hot air balloon. They started in St. Louis, meaning to reach New York City. They had to land about 27 miles outside St. Louis. Soooo.... yeah. Pony Express, anyone?
Hot humid anti-fibro weather here for me, still, yet, and then... just gotta keep plugging till autumn and relief! Meanwhile, I'll wrangle cats. Ours go in for an (early) annual check-up in a few days, and we all know how fun it is taking pets to the vet! Plus side, both cats, one appointment, whew!
AYKM = are you kidding meI think that's something I made up but who knows?So... I was sick from pain, from (sorry, gentlemen) cramping. Went to ER instead of HammerThumb physio doc.Turns out peri-menopause gave me some yada-blah hormone-thing level ( I think prostaglandin? I was pretty out of it) as high as A WOMAN IN CHILDBIRTH.Well, that explained the pain being so bad for "just a...
