Good morning/day/evening! It's Tuesday.
Not Friday? *sob*
Well, we have a fun time in the Wild Kingdom AKA my back yard. The squirrels offended the mockingbirds. Mockers have a good memory. Irk them, and it's 90 days before theyf orget you. Right now, the battle is on! Mockers swoop-diving squirrels, who are basically just scrambling for cover and running up trees. I have no idea what the squirrels did, but they did something, and my cats are ecstatic. Swoop! Dive! Scramble! Dixie is trembling with excitement and Dahlia may lose weight from her involuntary butt-wiggles. Dixie hit the screening hard enough to *dent* it. (I replaced fiberglass with aluminum for a reason!)
Meanwhile, next door has no stove, and they're cooking meat twice a day on their grille, and the smoke is horrible. It has seeped into our house. It smells like a bacon factory caught fire. UGH. We've tried everything short of using a fire extinguisher on them. And you know how a smell can be that *one* smell that just crawls up your nose and leaves your brain full of ick? Yep. Smoke is one for me. PTSD stuff. I had to PRN for anxiety yesterday.
Gatekeeping: literally, one who prevents entry into a protected or private area. Internet usage: anyone whose opinion disagrees with your interpretation of something in such a way that your feelings are offended because after all that dissenting opinion is obviously trying to run people's lives with such statements as "Shared trauma isn't love". (That's psychology 101, btw.)
Yodaism: Anything remotely like a bumper sticker saying with which one disagrees, or one does not understand, dismissed as cryptic non-wise gibberish, or "duh, no shit!" sayings found on, say, the motivational poster at the gym. ("Every walk begins with one step".)
Horticulture: the study and growing of plants, or, if you're Dorothy Parker and thus a true wit, the punchline to a now-famous joke. She was to use the given word (horticulture) in a sentence, and said, with perfect sobriety of expression, "You can lead a horticulture, but you can't make her think."
Random: Anything Leo writes on four hours of sleep full fo PTSD nightmares. ;-D
On that note, I'm off to hope for a strong breeze or at least a weak one from a different direction.
Wellness and peace to everyone:-) Stay safe, stay 2 meters apart, and stay masked. (And, if you're in Colorado, stay away from RVs with Minnesota plates, LOL. SIL is On The Move!)
Good morning! Well, the tortie cat in my house is *not* amused. I slept a bit despite pain's best efforts, and of coures this threw off Her Royal Highness's schedule. She's off to meow-howl at Hubby that he find a time machine and fix this.***Everyone doing okay today? We have had some wild times the last bit, ahven't we? Ups downs and sideways and no end seen for this ride. Anyone else think...
With PTSD we all have ups and downs. When you are blue or feeling hopeless, what helps you recover? Is it self reflection? Talking to a friend or family? Give others ideas on what you find helpful.
