We did it! Got mom to federal courthouse, thru hearing, and then talked down (which was most of my Monday) and ... YAY!
So what is your triumph? No such thing as small victories!
The skink continues well, as far as I know.
Weather is crazy. Up! then down, rainy, down, down, UP!.... I kinda feel like saying, "When youdecide on a season, wake me."
I wish I knew what to say to each and every one, individually, but my life seems so petty. I don't have kids, my hubby's pretty good, I mean, the biggest drama right now is doing laundry without screaming (Mom used my sore arm for her crutch evne tho' she had her walker yesterday, OMG, she left finger marks!)... Just doesn't compare with all y'all, for my money, especially with the strep banished and dead.
So I share with each of you some chocolate from beans grown on Vanuatu, b/c the variety of cacao does have a slightly different than everyday flavor, and it's like the *perfect* balance between dark and milk without any effort. Ahhh....
And if you don't like chocolate, some nice fruit-filled cookies.
Or both. Hey, the DS kitchen provides calorie-free endless supplies of yummy in our imaginations!
Today in 896 AD, Pope Formosus died. Formosus had a weird history. He was disciplined and excommunicated while still nowhere near the rank of pope; reinstated; elected pope; died; and then his cadaver was put on trial, literally. Like, they dug him up and sat him on a chair and so forth. He was deemed unfit to have ever been pope, stripped of his vestments (ew), and thrown into the Tiber River of Rome.... but his remains were rescued by a monk and re-interred (eventually) in St. Peter's Basilica. The one good to come out of this was that dead people were no longer allowed to be put on trial. No joke. So when you're watching HBO series like The Borgias or The Tudors or whatever? Yeah, the Renaissance didn't get nearly as nuts as those "Dark Ages". BTW, it was decided that the actions against Formosus were political, not about piety, thus the retraction and reburial as a pope.... You cannot invent this stuff. And who'd believe you if you did?!
Today in 1841, William Henry Harrison became the first US President to die in office. Pneumonia, about a month after his inauguration.
And today in 1968, Martin Luther King Jr was killed.
Wow, the only "happy" news out there today was about a dead guy being dug up and put on trial...
I'm fairly conked out, but big hugs and wellness wishes to everyone:-)
Hi, my name is Marie. I've a newcomer to the forum. I have fibromyalgia after being diagnosed with lupus 20 years ago. In my youth, I struggle keeping the lupus stable, but lately as I grow older, it is fibromyalgia flaring that I find difficult to control. Is there a particular diet that I should take to avoid fibro flaring because I just eat anything that I find appealing? Are there particular...
Had a phone session with Dr.S yesterday and he brought up "Object Constancy."He brought it up because i told him that i was obsessing about his possibly firing me as a patient because i really have made zero progress over the years, and i am non compliant. He assured me that he would never fire a patient who is suffering, and who has several hard to treat illnesses. He did say that if i felt he...
