I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
However, if he misses a dose by 4-6 hours...he knows it. If you suddenly stop taking it, it will have withdrawal effects the same as any other opiate.
Also, I asked him if he thinks it would help my pain, and he said not to take it....ever. Maybe that's because of it's withdrawal symptoms.
That's all I got :-)

My Dr seems to think that exercise id the answer to FM pain from FM seminars he has attended, and I just have too much osteoarthritis to exercise. I also had blood clots in my lungs in Sept '10 so because of the warfarin I must take for anticoagulation, I am severely limited in what drugs I can take for my FM and OA.
I have never had tramadol and can't help you with that. But taking percocet is a non event, it doesn't take the pain away but does take off the edge enabling me to get out of bed.
My functioning scale is improved to about 20% with the percocet, without it I don't think I can get out of bed. I have had no side effects from the percocet, which is unusual as I am sensitive to all of the usual FM meds. From debilitating nausea to suicidal thoughts which are symptoms I didn't have without the FM meds.
Wishing you the best result with whatever meds you try, and pray that you have some relief.
Blessing,
Alicia
I was very disappointed...tramadol seemed to be the wonder drug...and the headaches only seemed to happen around 3 pm each day and last a few hours, plus the nausea just made me feel like I was gonna pass out then it went away after a few hours. I was almost willing to live with it...except for the hives.
My doctor doesn't like perocets and I can not tolerate any other drugs so now I am stuck on bed rest again expected to live my life this way in pain.
I really hope tramadol works for you
Tramadol and Tylenol Arthritis Ext Relief does not eliminate the pain, but sure cuts it down to a manageable amount that I can live with and still be able to function at work and in my life. I do NOT do anything strenuous without paying for it dearly in pain and muscle spasm, and if I do that, the tramadol/tylenol arthritis does not help. So I stay away from strenuous activities. I work about 50 to 60 hours a week, so have little time for strenous activities anyway, spending hour upon hour at the computer desk.
some of you mentioned TYLENOL W/CODEINE
AM I CORRECT TO SAY THAT IF I HAVE THE TYLENOL THAN IA PERSON SHOULD NOT TAKE THE TRAMADOL?
IN SHORT AS YOU CAN TELL I AM HAVING DIFFICULTY WITH MY DOCTOR AND THATS WHY I ASKING SO ANY QUESTIONS HERE PLUS, YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND OUR PAIN AND HOW IT CAN MAKE YOU NEED BED REST AS WELL
THANK YOU 4 HELPING ME

Doctor said it could take 6 weeks for the hives to go away from taking two doses of Tramadol.
Some days you just can't win...looks like it is going to be a long night....think I will get my income taxes done....still haven't filed my 2009 return...might as well use the time wisely...although I am not sure it is wise to do my taxes while taking percocets...lol
Percocet is much stronger. that always worked for me too, but no doctor will prescribe it for me (unless I'm post op) . I have a rheumy that doesn't rx narcotics (lucky huh?), but I do get a supply every couple of months of tylenol with codeine as that works better for me than vicodin (itchy) and percocet (nausea).
Good luck!
