Good morning! Six hours in a row. Wow! Of course, I now have the infamous fibro headache, but I'll take the sleep and cope with the headache. Given the waeather changes and the new PT exercises lately, I'm surprised I didn't flare into a headache before this.
PTSD therapy, however, sucked. Yesterday just left me... Ugh. Just... Ugh. Raw and worn and emotionally messy. The kind of emotional messyw here all you want to do is sleep it off, b/c nothing else will really help. Of course, not an option.
Speaking of sucks, Electorlux vacuums really did have an ad for their product that says "Electrolux: It really sucks!"... Ah, how time changes our interpretations!
Random and useless trivia: A wyvern is a type of dragon that does not breathe flame and usaully only has two legs, and wings. Versus four legs, wings, and fire. Hey, this weird stuff comes up in my life. (OK, it was the Monster Trivia question Hubby knew. Of course he did... Where is my windbreaker? He's clueless. Wyvern definition? He's on it!)
Today in 1933 Albert Einstein located to Princeton New Jersey, USA from Germany. Good timing, obvs, as Hitler was rising and the brownshirts and blackshirts were emerging into daylight in organized numbers.
Also today, but in1931, infamous mobster Alfonse/Alphonse "Al" Capone was convicted of tax evasion. He served 8 of his 11 years, being released in part because his syphilis had developed into severe neuropsychiatric disorder (to be polite, he had late-stage syphilis-caused dementia with reduced mentality and capacity of all kinds, due to the syphilis causing meningoencephalitis with cerebral atrophy, and thi sis why you watch for STDs, mis amigos). He would die, eventually, in 1947, of heart attack and/or stroke or both.
Famed Baltimore hospital Johns Hopkins refused to admit Capone b/c of his notoriety, but another hospital did take him. Capone had spent much of 1938 in the prison hospital as it was, disoriented and deteriorating, so obvs again on the Beware the STDs, friends. I could lecture on syphilis \but instead...
Did you know Vincenzo Capone, far from joining brother Al's "The CHicago Outfit" (still run by Capone lieutenants as late as 1960 possibly), eventually ended up a fed? Yep.
It went like this: There was a dust-up in Brooklyn, the one in which Al gained his famous scar (thus his name "Scarface"), and Vincenzo being a godo brother, defended Al by pushing the attacker through a plate-glass window. (The attacker's fate is unknown, but probably not great, all things considered.) So Vincenzo, fearing retaliation, fled town and worked as a roustabout and odd jobs under the name Richard James Hart.
Why that name? His favorite cowoby movie star was WS Hart.
Vincenzo legally changed his name, enlisted during WW1, and got married in 1919, settling down in Homer, Nebraska. He kept his family ties a big secret, even downplaying his Italian ancestry due to the anti-Italian sentiment rolling around (in part still left over from immigration, in part over mobster violence, in part maybe just b/c he felt like it)... And vbecame...
A federal Prohibition agent. Yep. You read that right. Al Capone's bro was a G-man busting bootleggers. He was an excellent sharpshooter, earning the nickname "Two Gun Hart" just like his movie star idol. He was transferred to the Bureau of Indian Affairs in 1926, credited with capturing over 20 wanted known criminals, and busting up stills all over the damn place. He would bounce around from one reservation to another in the US west and northwest states for years, before becoming a justice of the peace in 1933, back in Nebraska. His only contact with his birth family seems to have been reading about them in the news.
Vincenzo died in 1960 of a heart attack. He's featured in a couple of books an diflms about the "Lost Capone". Less lost than re-created as he preferred, I'd say.
And now I have to deal with life, but... Happy Thursday:-) Hugs! *puma power*

Good morning! I slept (ish) and have spent an hour playing Mousey Chase with the cats. Oh, it's hilarious! *Three* toy mice, two cats, and they're still fighting;-PActuallhy, they're having a blast. It's very chilly here (around 20*F, -5/6*C) and if I don't wear them out, they will be ... well, cats.***Interesting note: The novel "Wicked: the life & times of the wicked witch of the west"...
