Did you ever think that your pharmacist could be persuaded to turn you in because he/she think your pain meds are above what should be allowed for adequate pain management?
I was absolutely stunned to find such a thing has long since happened! Read this article and you'll see why we have every right to be afraid.

As many of you know, I've been trying to get everyone that's able to sign their support for the National Pain Care Policy Act of 2007... now you have yet another reason to do so!!!
It's more than clear that we seriously need MORE research, education and awareness focused towards pain management issuses!!!
Read the article, remember all the complaining we've done about getting no help for our problems and then SIGN THE ACT!!!!!!!!!
(you'll find the post w/ the Act's info already on the board under the heading: "Nat. Pain Care Policy Act of 2007")

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
It's the doctor's license on the line and I'm sure he/she would be doing nothing at all that would jeopardize that.
but if he happened to him, it could happen to anyone...Hey, Brits, is there room for one more on your side of the pond?
Did this Mr. Paey's doctor stand up for him?????? No... he was coerced & indimidated by the powers that be to roll over on this man- for the sake of his license! And just look where Paey ended up! In jail, convicted of having the drugs that his doctor prescribed for him LEGALLY!!!
Should legitimate pain patients and their doctors bee treated as junkies & pushers? NO!!!!!!!!
What would be your reaction if this happened to you, Tara?
I agree that the whole system of healthcare needs to be monitored, but you're missing the point of this article... the Mr Paey spent years in prison for having pain meds that were LEGALLY prescribed to him by a legitimate doctor.
I'm not talking about doctors that aren't paying attention to whatever crap they throw at us. I've known a couple like that myself.
I'll repeat: LEGITIMATE pain patients and their doctors shouldn't be treated like junkies or pushers!
Thank you so much Andiekins.
Love and hugs
Kathy
P.S. Andiekins, what is the website so I can sign the National Pain Care Act. I missed it the first time and can not find it. Thanks.
It's the same w/ my clinic. No meds till the day they're due and that's AS PER D.E.A. ORDERS!
I know some are more comfortable joking around, but I'm so damned tired of hurting that I feel I have to do something other than just complain how things are.
Don't worry, Kathy, I'll find the link and make sure you get it!
