Honestly, I am on night million of a string of bad nights, so who knows how I am? Not I.
FINALLY got the actual bloodwork from a blood draw in June. Folks, I don't have an MD... but even I know you don't act like my current GP does about this stuff. In a nutshell? I pray my HMO allows me to go to the women's health clinic, or I'm outta doc options. And Dr. Silence, as I now call him, is a great doc ------ he caught Hubby's Waldenstrom's by doing thorough bloodwork. Me? LOL. Ignore me. I'm a mouthy female who dared use medical terminology (as I was educated to do) and dared ask questions! ....
The health clinic looks like a nightmare. The building is currently just under 200 years old, hasn't had a cleaning since construction by the smell of it (from outside no less), and the kindest word is "dingy". :-/
On to weirdness
It's a noun:
Light: as in illumination; a lighting fixture; anything that illuminates physically. E.g. a lamp or the sun
It's a verb:
Light: to start a fire; or to illuminate
It's an adjective:
Light: Pale in color
Light: Of little weight
Light: having the traits of being illuminated, as in "it is light", that is, daylight
Light: (slang) having little meaning or consequence ("this is light reading")
Light: of less calories (usually lite in the US)
It works as the base for several words:
Lighter (flick a Bic, make a flame thingy)
Lighting (as a noun, or adjective, referring to the lamps and ways a place is kept not-dark)
light up (slang: to dazzle)
And a second verb: lighten: to make paler, or reduce in intensity of color, as in lightening one's hair.
Lightning: (no E!) the noun for that electrical bolt that precedes thunder!
So.... when you use the word light... give it a bit of respect. It does a lot of work in the English language. :-)
There, that was random and probably has you thinking "HUH?!" Good. Now you're not thinking about other things!
Like, in my case, a certain black cat looking at my toes.... tipping he rh ead.... licking her chops.... Yikes.
Had a rough night, add in the SLOWEST moving ever fibro trigger weather front (honestly, another full day before it clears...).... Yeah, is it Friday yet? No? ARGH.Hubby's co-worker died of Covid. We found out yesterday. Had me a last straw moment. Hubby hadn't seen him in a long time (obvs, with remote working), but... yeah. guy left a family. (No, he wasn't vax'd.) Stupid. He was only in his...
