Get this - I had a bout of 24 hour stomach flu. I ran a temperature for the first time since I developed FM. The day after my temperature was gone, I felt less pain than I had for several weeks. Now the pain is back, and I feel FM crappy as oppossed to flu crappy. My rheumatologist has told me I have had an overactive immune system for some time. What happens is the antibodies in my system always think they are fighting something. Problem is that when nothing is there, that produces pain and fatigue. My theory is that finally those little bastards had something real to attack and not me, so my FM symptoms resolved for that short time. That is my story and I am sticking to it.
