First instruction on the colonoscopy pamphlet sent me by the hospital: Please remove any jewelry or other items which may obstruct the scope.
I'm sorry, what? Given where they put that... ??? Sooo.... yeah, not like I'll risk anything like that in a pandemic anyway, but now I'm just in that shock-laugh stage. Yes, I know. It's safe. So why are people told not to avoid electives at this time? Simple. Our hospital is overrun, understaffed, and overworked. So is the big university one up the way.
For data on vaccination and efficacy, re: *hospitalization*: https://www.politico.com/news/2021/09/17/cdc-study-finds-moderna-vaccine-is-best-at-preventing-covid-19-hospitalization-512565
No, this doesn't mean you're doomed if you got Pfizer. More likely to need a booster, yes. If I need to be re-vaccinated entirely, I'll go Moderna next time, but Pfizer was what I got free. (TLDR: Modern around 93% effective preventing hospitalization-level Covid; Pfizer 88%.)
On which note, it being Friday and me eing exhausted and PTSD'd out, I'm gonna go sip a cuppa and watch Dahlia watch birds, b/c her tail is so cute as it fluffs an dlashes and she "mip!"s at them. (Dixie makes that weird chitt-chittt noise; Dahlia mips. Both love to watch youtube videos of wild animals and chat at the TV.)
