OK, are you short, tall, small, large, old, young, nowhere somewhere anywhere and have fibro and/or pain for any other reason?
ALL ARE WELCOME HERE!
Pain don't discriminate, and neitther do we. Big hugs.
Ever have a moment when you look at a pet and think, "Wow, those scary movies about killer pets make sense now?" Had mine with Black Dahlia this morning. Two huge round eyes just peeping over the arm of the chair just now. WHen she wants, she is *so* Toothless the Dragon from "How to Train Your Dragon"... Eep!
FIFA Women's World Cup Soccer! WOot!
So ongoing saga of the chubby to Holy-Crap-Fat cats... Hubby came home late last night and fed them treats. Why"? Because they were so cute! ... OMG. *headdesk times ten* "Diet" is not in the concept vocabulary there. He told me that and I was just lying in bed like, "I am too tired o do more than shake my head at this."
QUESTION FOR ALL: Do you know someone who can, by entering a room, make it messy? I've heard only men do this but, respect to our men and women alike, No Way that's true. No way. For one thing, I've met my one cousin. She is herself tidy as heck in her person, but she walks into a house and suddenly there's... stuff. Everywhere. She sort of drips chaos or something. No coat stays on a hanger in her presence. Shoes don't stay on racks. We stopped asking *years* ago about her earrings, which turn up all over the place... Never ask her to fold a map. Never. (Please. I'm still recuperating, as a certified neat freak, from her only attempt in my presence about 20 years ago. The New England states will never be the same!)
So... Any adults y ou know who enter a room, and boom! ...
And my dad was a complete neat freak, so obvs it's not only men or all men, and so forth...
Conducting informal research b/c group therapy was a huge session of "we live with slobs" yesterday. I was feeling grateful the only random item I find outside the hamper is dirty socks, and that our stairs become "shelves for random stuff".
OK, no cute pics today but dig this: New York State is banning the declawing of cast for any reason otther than absolute necessity (e.g., like when our cat had a cancer in her foot and her toe had to be removed in part to remove the cancer). First US State to do so.
Declawing is banned in many nations. It tis not removal of claws. It is amputation of the terminal joint of the forepaws of the cat. So if you take a little baby human and snip off the joint that holds the fingernails b/c the baby scratched you... Or cut off the toes of a dog... Notice we don't do those things, but we do them to cats. That has always baffled me. People make claims like "Cats scratch frniture" but have you seen what dogs can do to furniture? And dog claws can be wicked nasty on human skin.
Statistics show that people who declaw a cat are more likelyt o abandon it (either on the street or to a shelter).
So some people are saying the New York state law is bad b/c now people won't adopt cats. *sigh*
Meanwhile, it's still legal to dock (cut off) ears and tails of dogs. OMG. Never. Ever. I mean, Doberman pinschers have bad reputations, but c'mon. First thing you know of humans is they cut off your tail! I'd be cranky, too! Let the dog have its tail. (And ears!)
To me, this is animal cruelty. Alas, many people disagree. "They're just animals." *sigh* Well, we even tried to slaughter chickens mercifully, so... I'm from a long line of tree-and-soil-and-critter huggers. We'd no sooner dock a tail or declaw than we'd clip off a baby's fingertips, and that, btw, was how it was phrased in my family so that's why the comparison. Sorry about that. My gramps was a rather *intense* person...
And on that weird note, off to laundry and icing my bad arm and all that fun stuff.
Friday furry power to us all!
Here's hoping there are no weird errors online or in life. And to keep it short b/c I only woke up at 9 AM after being up till 3 AM...GROUP HUG!
OK, I am just gonna type something quickly b/c I had nothing prepared and we had a windstorm and neighbors' cats and I was up by 5 AM and slept maybe 4 hours and have gotten FIVE Back End Fetch errors just trying to get this far on DS today... DS can fetch its own back end, hmph! PUrrs and Friday joy to all!OK, try six... CSRF token is invalid. What?!
