From about 8:00 to 10:00, he decided to "power drink", ended up passing out in a ditch and there's snow on the ground (about -10). No idea if he smoked any pot or hash beforehand. Luckily, thank god, his friend had the smarts to call us.
Hubby was trying to get him out of the ditch and a man saw what he was doing and came out of his house to help him. They brought him here and I phoned 911. They took all his clothes off, wrapped him in blankets and started rubbing his legs, arms, feet and hands as he was starting to get hypothermia. No response at all. It felt like an eternity until the ambulance got here. He was breathing the whole time on his own. The man, who I found out after is named Bill, he went over to our local senior center/health center (not a hospital though) and they gave him a portable oxygen tank. That brought Nathan around but he still couldn't talk. We followed the ambulance to the hospital and met my mom and our daughter there. I'm going on the 3rd night of no sleep (first 2 were the awful hotel bed).
Yeah, he doesn't have an addiction problem (sarcasm).....grrr!!!!!!!!! Maybe NOW someone, somewhere will listen and get him the help he needs!
They have him overnight and we are going to go there in the morning. Please send some good vibes his way that this will be a huge wakeup call and he smartens his ass up! I took 3 photos of him laying in the ER with an IV in his arm.
I honestly don't know how much more I can take.

Hi everyone, I just want to vent. One Saturday two to three weeks ago, I helped Mom pruned her bougainvillea, handwashed her clothes, chopping/frying dinner, scrubbed the tiles in three bathrooms, mopped the tiles, vacumn the floor, typed 5000 words for my teacher..... Unfortunately for you he is in the grips of alcoholism. Nothing is bad enough to scare him straight.
My son almost froze to death too. Luckily the police saw his size 16's sticking out of a snow bank. He passed out head first walking home in a snow bank. he was still clutching the vodka bottle. The plows could have killed him but God looks out for fools and drunks!
I had to admit defeat and go to Alanon for support. My son is still an alcoholic but I have some tools to use as his mother. I made some mistakes like enabling him and bailing him out of jail. Now he knows he is responsible for anything he does drinking related.
Go for yourself. You are not alone. Hugs, Keleee :)
My prayers are with you and your son..Im so sorry love.God be with you!!!
