Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
It is quite possible that your skin is more sensitive to the sun or something that you might be allergic to because of your FM. Just as many of us are more sensitive to light or sound or touch.
Fibro has a lot of yucky symptoms but I want to be sure I have to "put up with it" rather than "getting it fixed."

You want a shampoo for severe dandruff & eczema, etc. Look for coal tar, or tar, to be one of the main ingredients, and I try to use ones that have menthol or something similar in it as well, it gives you a nice cool tingling feeling on the scalp. You can get them over the counter, or if you see a dermatologist he will probably give you a RX strength one. I know that mine's been really bad recently; my mom has this too, and she thinks the change in seasons aggravates it.
Anyways...I could be wrong, but that's the first thing I thought of when you said flaky crap on your forehead. :) It's worth a try.
I also use a special swimsuit which is specially rated to block UV C rays, the worst kind of rays you could be exposed to. It has long legs arms and a high collar, its awesome. I also have allergies in my face really bad.
For my tummy issues I use pepperming gels with fennel and ginger in it. You can get them at the nature store take three on an EMPTY tummy. I use it for my IBS.
Its enteric coated which means its designed to bypass your stomach acid and release inside your intestines.

i look like i've been slapped up some days,
i took photo one morning when it was bad & i couldn't get into dr
the minute she saw it she started the testing for everything & then pinpointed the fibro.
good luck,
try not to use too hot water to wash & use a light aveeno / oatmeal type cream with no dyes, oe perfumes, that helped me also
drink 2x more water than you think you need.......
I also have what you've described. I'm rather self conscious of it, and for the longest I thought that it was caused by my hair products. I wonder if it could be fibro related.
Now, I have and itchy rash that swells my skin up. I've been reading up on skin rashes and it looks like it might be chronic hives...fun, fun!
I was told by my doctor to take allergy medication. I took it for about a month or more, and it didn't really do anything but clear out my sinuses.
I also agree with a pp'er, could it be from a med u r on? Or from thyroid?
Not sure if its from fibro or not, hell, it very well could be from fibro.
I would make sure u ask the rheumo at your apt. Are u keeping a journal of everything u want to ask him? I think u need one, lol between u and me and what u r finding here u just might have a book to take along.
