I happened to catch Good Morning America this morning. They ran a teaser called "Glenn Beck's Hospital Horror". I thought something really terrible happened to him and tuned in. What a whining, ignorant, self-indulgent drama queen. He had outpatient surgery for HEMMORROIDS. He later had to go to the ER with complications. He was upset because claimed the ER staff was indifferent to his suffering and treated him badly when he arrived, and went on a bad trip from the pain medications he was given. Turns out the wife put him in their car and drove him herself instead of calling an ambulance or a friend for help, and still didn't ask for any when they got there. Apparently he counts mind-reading and catering to clueless spoiled celebrities among the required skills of ER staff. As he went along, he praised the treatment of his drs (the ones that did the surgery which resulted in complications and gave him the heavy drugs), while ragging on the ER and hospital staff. Now this wealthy, high-profile, cynical commentator sees himself as the new prophet of health care reform. I wrote CNN Headline News and basically said "you have got to be kidding". Let's see what he does if something REALLY dire happens to him, like FM or trauma. Glenn Beck as health-care reform advocate? NO THANKS. BTW, I tried to send the same message to GMA, but the ABC News website would not do it unless I gave them all kinds of personal information.
