I'm so excited everyone!!!
As a little background: my mom has been living with my brother (black sheep #1) for the last 4 years since my dad passed away. He is a master manipulator and has kept mom apart from our family axcept for a rare visit here and there. This has been a HUGE issue for me and has caused more flares than I could possibly keep track of. My Aunt and I were going to go and visit her recently and my aunt made the mistake of telling my brother that we were coming. He right away said that he was planning on bringing mom home because it was too expensive. (She had only been there one month) That was 3 weeks ago and she's still there. The reason I'm excited is that now my aunt and I are planning a covert visit to see her. If he gets mad, too bad. I'm also bringing her a telephone, which he has not gotten around to getting her.
Wish me luck that our mission gets pulled off.
Thanks for listening!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
That is great! Where there is a will there is a way. With the phone you can call her now which will be nice. Enjoy your visit.

I hope you have a wonderful visit.
So far I've been writing he twice a week, which I know she enjoys but she can't use her arms well so I never hear from her. My brother also has total power of attorney and didn't even put my sisters or I on the medical power list to make decisions if mom can't. Therefore, even the nurses can't talk to me about her condition when I call, and mom is too afraid to make him mad that she won't say it's OK for them to talk to me. I'm definitely going to try to get that straightened out when I'm there.
