I HAVE BEEN IN PAIN FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS NOW AND SEEN MULTIPLE DR.S WHO HAVE KINDA BLOWN IT OFF I WAS PRESCRIBED NAPROXEN AND IBUPROPHEN ON 2 SEPRATE OCCASIONS. I GOT REALLY BAD STOMACH PAIN AND DIAREAHA WITH BOTH OF THEESE. I JUST RECENTLY GOT A NEW PRIMARY CARE DR WHO REFERED ME TO A REUMATOLOGIST WHO FINALLY DIAGNOSED ME WITH FIBRO. HE PRSCRIBED ME OXAPROZIN WHICH GAVE THE SAME SIDE EFFECTS AND NOW JUST SWITCHED ME TO ETODOLAC AND I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I THINK I MAY BE ALLERGIC TO NSAIDS. MY AUNT ALSO HAS FIBRO AND SHE TAKES OXYCODONE I TRIED ONE AND IT REALLY HELPED ME BUT SHE SAID MOST DOCTORS DON'T LIKE PRESCIBING IT BECAUSE IT'S NARCOTIC.SHE GETS IT FROM A PAIN MANAGEMENT CLINIC. I DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD ASK MY DOCTOR FOR THIS BECAUSE I DON'T WANT HIM TO THINK I WANT NARCOTICS. SHE SAYS ALOT OF DOCTORS HAVE TREATED HER LIKE SHE WAS A DRUG ADDICTED WHEN SHE ASKED FOR STRONGER PAIN MEDS IN THE PAST. MY QUESTION IS SHOULD I ASK MY DOCTOR FOR THIS? DOES ANYONE ELSE TAKE THIS FOR FIBRO? DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY MEDS THAT HELP FIBRO PAIN THAT ARN'T NSAIDS?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
My Rheumototlogist prescribed mmany things that did not work or I expereinced horrible side effects (whichIS part of having Fibromyalgia - being ultra sensitive to meds that is)......the only 2 that help are Oxycodone & Ativan....been on thema year - they help take the edge off. Good luck.
