OT: day to myself!

I haven't had a full day to myself in over 5 months! Hubby started a new job today cooking at a cafe and son is in school. I have plans to putter, sleep, clean, put my tree up, bake, be on the computer and watch TV! yea!!!!

Enjoy it while you can. You can really get hooked on the peace and quiet. Don't over do it. You have tomorrow and the next day to do things.

Well, my day is going good. Edited my mom's family Christmas letter and got some more decorations out. I spent all morning rearranging my living room to fit my large tree in. I moved my love seat, two chairs, table and tv stand only to have it back in exactly the same spot! My stairs are where I want the tree to go and the TV doesn't have long enough cable to go elsewhere. Oh well!

Not much else done so far! LOL I did realize I am a "new Christmas music" SNOB! Yes, I can't stand those whiny, screechy, warbling younger singers but my one and only music station has been playing them all morning. I finally shut it off! Give me my ole Bing, Andy, Frank and Brenda please!!!!! :)

I am jealous!!!, I am up at 5am with the grandbaby my son just brought and wont pick up until 630pm. Hubby doesnt get home home until 630pm

Truthfully I wish my DIL would stop by and feed her and help be out, I know she cant lift her but she could read her books and feed her.

Sometimes I just want to cry and scream, not at the baby but at being worn out, I need a break and when I talk about it to them they look at me like WHY?? You dont do anything just sit all day with the baby. Once I got the MIL to come over and get her for a few hours but she didnt do it again. SHe has her social life.

But anyway I am glad you had a day like that, enjoy it. Sorry I got carried away, baby is in the swing so I have a few mins, Shes watching a Baby Einstein dvd.

As a Single Mom. with 3 Kids, I worked one full time, one part time job...Oh how I LOVED those quiet days to self...Now thats all I have...no longer work, and kids are grown and gone...

We all need time to ourselfs, I think it is very important to everyone. Everyone thinks moms doesn't need a time out or anything b/c we " just sit around doing nothing" gosh, no one understands us! :) I feel really bad for you guys who are grandparents and have to ' raise" your grandkids you had yoru time raising kids, you need a break! hehe. I guess different situations arrise, but thats what I believe in. Sorry if I m going off.. just took my meds and a little loopy, I really hope that you enjoy yoru time, I love it.

Well, the guys are back and hubby had a good day at work. :)

I managed to get the tree up, living room cleaned, bathrooms decorated and kitchen decorated and cleaned.

    I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
