My Neuro just gave me this for my migraines and daily headaches. Im not sure what to expect.
He pressed 2 sides of my neck today and asked, does this hurt? Heck yeah! So he says I have occipital neuroalgia (sp). Sigh.
Has anyone tried this? If so, what was your experience with it?
I hope this treatment works. So far the injection site hurts! But my headache is better. A toss off I guess.
Thank you for any replies.

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
Hope It works for you.

They injected at the base of my skull; into the occipital nerves. So far I am doing alright with it. Headache is gone, but the injection sites hurt :( they used a steroid. I never had steroid injections before, so dont know what to expect.
I sure can think of so many other places on my body that could use injections; shoulders are one.
I dont even know what occipital neuralgia means for me for the long haul.
I just pray this helps. Headaches/migraines are one of my biggest ongoing problems :(

I hope the headaches stay away for a long time.

WOW! I did not know this was even an option. I am glad my neuro picked up on it and offered the therapy.
How long it will last, I dont know, but I feel like a weight has been lifted. I have hope with this area;now on to the rest of my body, that would be nice too.
I did not know injection therapy was an option for the trigger points, let alone the head. So far, I am blown away with hope. I did not have hope, now I do :)
