Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
There are many good sites for fibro information. I will google it later today and see what I can find for you. I do indeed take neurontin for neuropathic pain over night. I do not take it during the day.
IMHO, you made the best step by finding a place to come to ask questions and learn about your health. That is so imiportant. I imagine that simply by browsing through posts on this site and looking at bios you will get a lot of that beginning information that we all have needed.
Welcome!
I hope we are able to offer you all the support you need here hon!
I take 1600 mgs daily of Neurontin. It is a nerve pain med & I have not experienced any major side effects to speak of. But everyone processes meds differently.
You can go to Drugs.com to further research Neurontin.
There is a National Fibromyalgia Research Assoc...you can google as well.
And the Pain Relief Network keeps people with chronic pain up-to-date on what's going on in Congress, with drug-makers & physicians treating chronic pain.
I hope this gets you started.
Be well...:)
Squeeze that beautiful baby for me and enjoy the holidays!
On what to expect, wow, that's a big one! I mean, there are such varied symptoms, that's why it's called a syndrome, when it's really a disease. I hate that it's called a syndrome. Some how makes it seem like it's not taken seriously.
You can have all sorts of pains, aches, irritations. Just be sure and bring up EVERYTHING to your doc. One of the biggest mistakes we make is assuming that every little pain is from fibro when it acutality, sometimes, it's other illnesses or problems. So NEVER just assume that a certain pain is fibro, even if other's have it as well.
I assumed that my chest pain and shortness of breath was fibro pain, because others on the board experience it too. Well, my doc I saw yesterday, doesn't agree, and is sending me to a cardiologist. So, see what I mean? always bring it up with your doc.
Once again, welcome. And you can get thru this with good family, good friends, and a good doc!!!!!!
