hi everyone im liz i was dx with m.s in june 06 and CFS in june 07. the sym seem to overlap some what. but now im questioning fibro, now the weather here in the uk has turned cold. im having great problems with pain in my thumb and knee as soon as i warm up it easy,s off. i did some research into fibro and again i see a overlap of fibro and cfs. so im not really sure if this is a CFS sym or fibro. its not m.s as that is a different king of pain and does not ease up with heat.its funny in the summer the heat makes me feel so ill as does a hot bath or shower.and now im being affected badly by the cold lol. i would appriciate any help in this matter thank-you all so much for reading this loads of love lizxxxx

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I used to live in the uk and the wet and cold climate made my leg pain unbearable. We moved to Ohio 3 years ago and I find the summers great for my pain (terrible for my lupus). When the winter hots though the cold is terribel. I have to wear several layers of clothing on my legs and I find that helps. I also use hot water bottles or heat pads which help. Good luck with the weather in the UK I hear you have had a really wet summer and that can't have helped you much.xx
From what you have written it sounds lie your pain is very localized..fibro pain is generally all over the body..perhaps not all at once but most people feel it in the legs arms back neck etc...it is more of a muscle type pain than joint so I dont think one knee or a thumb would be fibro.

Now in the last few years its all over, other than when im in a flare my hips legs and feet hurt so bad.
As the years have gone on, my fibro has gotten worse.
My pain has never gone away, ever, in my neck, shoulders and upper back. The constant burning and flu like aching is always there.
Have u seen a neuro or rheumo?
They would better be able to break it down specifically for you.
*hugs*
I do have localized pain that is due to osteoarthritis and then generalized pain due to Fibro.
Good luck , plz keep posting.
