I am watching Montel right now. He has a show on about cancer. They are talking about people right now, who smoked and there is a lady who passed away because of smoking. It is heartwrenching, and I am crying as I type.

I just smoked my last cigarette, I am swearing to you all.

My Dad just passed away from Lung cancer in Novemebr. He smoked for 53 years! He was 64 when he died. I cannot let my children go through what we went hrough.

I am putting them down, NOW!!!

I hope you all can catch that episode today, it really opened my eyes.

Hi Laurie. You can do it! I quit when my first grandchild was born - I thought I want to be around longer for you. My Mom died of lung cancer at 62 years old - that was 12 years ago - I've quit smoking now for almost 9 years and I'm so happy I did. I'm pulling for you! Soft hugs, Deb

Thank you, all! I am going to need SO much support on this one, ladies! I have been cutting down, and went from 2 pks a day to 1 pk a day.

I know I will go thru the withdrawal and anxiety! I do have xanax for that, but support will help so much!

I actually just threw away a half a pack, and took the trash OUTSIDE!

I will keep you lifted up in prayer, I know this is the hardest thing to do, but if you have the willpower, I know you can do it, I'm still smoking and it is the hardesst thing to kick. My smoking habits have changed tho. I used to smoke 1 carton a week and now am down to 1 carton every 2 weeks, I know that is better than before but the best would be to quit...So I will keep you lifted up Laurei....Love...Helen

Great on quitting! I quit a while ago and feel and smell so much better. I also save 150 dollars a month!

Hey Sunshine...I'm quitting on January 26th. What I have decided is that I will take the money that I would have used to buy smokes to buy myself other stuff that I wouldn't usually get. That way, you're rewarding yourself for quitting.

I quit almost 5 yrs ago. Best thing I ever did for myself. I think the key to being successful is really, truly wanting to quit. You have to quit for yourself. If you're doing it for any other reason, it'll be much harder. I quit cold turkey. I finished my last cigarette & decided not to go pick up another pack. Everytime I passed the convenience store, I pretty much told myself I didn't need to stop. Good luck!

OK....So I fell off... I had 2 cigs last night and 1 this a.m. with my coffee, but I am doing much better! None as of yet after coffee!

Good Luck! I stopped smoking when my daughter was little. We were in the car and she looked over at me and said "Mommy when you die I won't have a mommy anymore". Thats what did it for me.

I have been without a smoke for 4 weeks now, I quit the day I knew I was pregnant. I knew that it was not for me, but for my baby. I quit when I was pregnant with my first child also, but started again after she was born. I know it is very hard, but you can do it. You need to find what your reason is and don't forget it. You are strong and will make it. Also, get rid of ALL the smokes, if they aren't there you can't smoke them! Good luck! Take care!

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
