I have been taking Lyrica for about 2 1/2 months now. I have lowered my dose to 50mg 2x/day AM and supper-time. I was gaining far too much weight with a higher dose altho it did help alot with the pain.
Now I have more pain with the lower dose and I still have the weight I gained, BUT I find that I have never slept so well in my life! Apparently it allows you to get the necessary stages of sleep.
I notice that if I forget my dose at 6PM, I go back to my sleep disorderat night. I will continue with Lyrica, if ONLY for the SLEEP benefits!
Has anyone had these same benefits? It's not because it takes the pain away that I sleep better, it just affects some part of the brain related to sleep.
Of course it also affects the part of the brain related to metabolism; that's why we gain weight, it's not water retention.
Let me know if it affects your sleep.

I'm very happy that it's working for you. I can't take it because I can't afford to gain any weight.

I've been taking my Lyrica in the AM and in the PM right before bed. Now I am thinking that maybe I should take it with my dinner instead of at bedtime! Certainly worth a try.

I've been on it since February. I have not gained any weight at all. I sleep soundly and it helps with my pain. It does not eliminate my pain, but I have less really bad days than I used to. I am on a low dose as well, and thinking about upping it a bit.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
