I have just joined Daily Strength. I am looking for support from others who suffer through this. I had a brain tumor four years ago and now I am dealing with Fibromyalgia. I have a three year old daughter and I don't know if I can get through this. Please tell me this will get better. It has been such a hard road and I am not sure I want to keep going....... Any advice or help????

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Love and hugs. Kathy
you will, thru trial and error find what works for YOU...do not take anyones word {including your DR.} as gospel....different things work for different people...some go with the meds...some do not...preferring a more natural solution...some do a mix of both...READ all you can...do NOT invest a bunch of money in Miracle cures....there are people right on this board that have LIVED with this now for over 50 years....so it CAN be done...take care of SELF first so you can continue to care for your daughter....it is NOT selfish to do that...you want to show her as much positive and as much strength as you can.....and some times we just bluff our way thru...I will watch for your posts and try to help you all I can....God Bless you and Take care...

Make your bedroom your "nesting oasis"...buy yourself 400 thread count sheets, duvet, special pillows. Have your books, light, etc. handy. Buy yourself an electric blanket, special diabetic socks, massage and heat cushion for your vehicle, get a pedicure and a manicure and treat yourself to something you love once a month or more. Be good to yourself. Don't be a "hero" and be sure to allow others to help you. And most of all...don't give up hope.
Advice??? Relax, research, prioritise your time - leave the stuff that doesn't matter, and DON'T FEEL GUILTY!
It will get better, but it won't completely go away. You will (with time) learn coping skills and try some of the treatments to alleviate the many symptoms. Ifelt like you for a long time, but I am finally getting a grip on it. It has deeply affected all of our lives in this community, but I think most of us will be damned if it will stop us from living a good life, We are always here for you. No one truly understands the profound effects of this disease but those that have to live it. Gentle hugs to you oh and P.S. It does get better. sue
It will get better!!! Just havind the support from ds has made a big difference, It's given me strength where I really needed it. I was totally isolating and feeling almost like a total faluire , esp w my family who have totally never supported me (I don't even think they have even looked it up on the internet) I am totally alone (what I would give if I could gp back in time and have a little girl!!)although i know its alot of work but just thinking of the joy a child can bring into the world. Take care and remember the food part, it makes such a big difference when I eat healthy!!!!
