As if the "normal" pain of fm isn't enough I am experiencing some really tough stabbing needle pains in my neck and shoulder area.
It started about 3 weeks ago and has steadily gained in intensity. Now, I am not speaking of the "pins and needles" feeling you get when part of your body "falls asleep".
This is severe stabbing. Like someone just jammed an 18 gauge needle in me. It is enough to wake me from sleep. Enough that I almost cry out and then I grab the shoulder area.
If fluctuates from right to left side. Usually lasts all day in left and then that may stay a few days and then will switch to the right.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I get that all the time. I had it before fibro and I think it may be two bad disks in my neck. It feels like burning pins and I get knots between my shoulder blades. I sometimes lay on a tennis ball with the tennis ball applying pressure to the knot. I try and keep it up until I can't stand it anymore or the knot lets go. trigger point massage helps with it as well as having my chiro adjust my neck.
Good Luck, Hugs, Keleee :)
