I'm really at my wits end.....
All things being equal...say you have fibro...which we all do AND you have a cold, sore throat, etc. AND you can't call in sick to work (part-time;2-3 hours/day) because your boss is away AND there is a ladies retreat at the church in which you have a small part (5 minute talk, etc) AND the retreat is overnight(locally on Friday night and all day Saturday) AND then you have to go back to work on Sunday morning for a couple hours(the day after the retreat is over).
I can't give up work because of a cold...but you know how a cold feels WITH fibro (and a flare no less). Also, I NEEEED the money...ugh. But I hate to run out on my retreat/church thingy. On the other hand, it is a very tiring retreat with all of the activity that goes on. I am a worker (which could mean just about anything from photocopying to serving food) and it and it will be(always is)very taxing. But God is important to me.
Gosh...if this made any sense to anyone....what do I do?
I feel overwhelmed and like I'm not doing a good job at anything!?!?!?
help!?

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
It all goes back to us women feeling like we have to be all to everyone. I'm sure people will understand you are not feeling well, and a cold on top of everything else just sucks, I know I have one now, too.
You need to blow off the retreat this time and take care of YOU. People who really know you will understand, and more importantly, God understands!
2nd, have you tried zicam? I get the stuff that you stir into your tea. Works great for me. Also for a cold, take half a lemon & squeeze it into a cup of steaming hot tea. Then add 2 peppermints. Drink it while it's still hot or at least very warm.
Hugs
I'm heading in the direction of not participating in the retreat OR...if I do, very little of it, like my 5 minute talk.
I wish we could all be closer geographically ...so we could spend some time together. It would be nice to spend time with people who really understand and can put things in perspective.
Thanks you guys (sorry nj accent again!?!) Love and hugs to you ALL!!!
I will use all the advice I've gotten...right down to the peppermints in the tea..... ;)
hugs!!!!!
Hugs to all! Thanks a mill!!!!

Please get some good rest if you can.Love Melinda
Thanks again for everything. I don't feel so alone and like NO ONE understands. Even my friends at the church retreat can be a bit judgemental. My friend with MS seems to do better than I do with this stuff. They always compare me to her and tell me that I don't have it so bad.....
I know MS is serious stuff, but we ALL have our challenges....seems like you guys are the only ones who REALLY get it!!!
Love and thanks!
