The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
So sorry you have been saddled with this. I think that everyone reacts differently to treatments and my primary is CFS so I am different from a pure FM diagnosis (I don't know if you have the CFS too).
However, you have made one of the biggest steps in figuring out how to cope by coming here. By viewing the posts and continuing to ask questions, you will learn so much more about the illness, options for treatment and coping.
Welcome and keep talking with us :)
I never had my pain under control until I saw a Pain Management Doctor. They are the one's who can prescibe narcotic pain meds. Some people can just take Ultram, or Tylenol, Cymbalta or Lyrica and their pain is gone. Hope you are one of those. I'm not. It took me years and years to finally find someone willing to actually BELIEVE my pain and TREAT my pain. I'm finally functioning again, but not to discourage you. Just letting you know, there ARE those good docs out there, so if you're not getting relief and belief from the current doc, move on and don't stop until you find one that gets you on meds that actually HELP!!!
Blessings!
I have been to see the rhumo doc, he was the one who told me that I had it.
one other question for you....do your joins swell up? and go bright red? mine do, the doc thought I had RA, but it seems he has changed his mind lol. I am walking on crutches at the moment, dont help that much, just takes the pain from my legs to my arms.
How long have you been on the RX's? It might take a while before you get the right dosages, treatments etc. It's taken me years.
Other things you might consider are taking magnesium, malic acid, fish oil and celadrin for joint care as well as melatonin for sleeping. Massage and aqua therapy help most people as does a variety of other things.
