This is what I did the month before my GP put me on the elimination diet. I dropped 10 lbs in one month and was miserable.
Have you eliminated foods to see what might be doing this to you ?
Hope this helps .. Marcia
1/2 an imodium worked for me too. Any more and I was stopped up forever.
Good luck! Hope you feel better soon. Hugs, Shelli
After the blood work, they called me up and said they will need to do an endoscopy as well, as the same session.
Had no idea what all this meant, but when I came out the cute little pudgy face doctor came out and explained I have celiac sprue disease.
If you research it, you will find many, many symptoms the same as fibro-especially the pain in tendons, muscles, etc.
So, going on a gluten free diet to, hopefully, repair the small tear in my small intestines and to hopefully feel better and not so bloated.
Oh yes, the reason the lady doctor got very concerned was that I had written on my medical history IBS- she got rather angry acting and said "who told you that you had IBS" of course, as many doctors as I have, could not remember "who" but I guess she was more concerned about the celiac, which could be causing a lot, or all of my IBS?
Anyway, will keep you updated to let you know if the strict diet does wonders for the pain, lol--hope so, anyway.
Whether I care for it or not, I will be on a gluten diet for the remainder of my life. It is hereitary, so, they strongly suggest that your children and grandchildren, as well as siblings and parents are tested for it.
We shall see what happens, something good, I hope.
When I have the "D" I eat rice (without butter or gravy) to coat my stomach and it seems to work to slow things down, then I go into the constipation mode, lol.
Best of luck, and HUGS to you.
