You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
I use heat therapy (heating pads, a friends hot tub) and massage for knots (usually my mom). I know that driving irritates the muscles in my knees and shins. I at times switch legs to even things out.
Here's a great article on the role of neurotransmitters in fibro. Amino acids are the building blocks of neurotransmitters:

I have a feeling the knots in your legs are myofascial trigger points, or knots in the muscles that refer pain elsewhere. I have them absolutely everywhere!!
The good news is that you can break them up [more or less] so they don't cause pain with trigger point massage. I use the book featured at triggerpointbook.com and can't recommend it highly enough. It's saved me untold suffering and having to be on pain meds. I use a two-headed percussion massager simply because I had it when I learned about TP massage. It works well as it glides easily over clothing and I can reach all areas of my body with it.
How effective have you found the meds? I also attending school fulltime but had to drop out cause ive been so tired that i would literally fall asleep driving to school (which is less than five miles away)
its sad its like im sick and tired of being sick and tired
