How do i make my mom understand that i will not get magicly better from this? she believes that once i leave college and the military and live at home with her that i will be able to stop taking my medicines and be magicly better.
I have sent her the letters from a fibro person to a normal person and that helped her understand when i said i cant' do stuff.
Its just so frustrating when she says stuff like that. i kno alot of prescription meds are really bad for you and i would prefer to do the herbal thing, but some of those are bad for you too. if i could find one that worked, then i would. its not even like i'm on narcotics or anything (i would be if they helped any). and if something i take helps, then i'll take it.
I also have narcolepsy, and she seems to think i can just stop taking those meds too. i'm afriad that when i come home, she's going to make it hard for me to get the meds i need b/c she doesnt' want me to take them.(i don't drive, that whole narcolepsy thing, so this would make it much easier for her to interfere.)

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
(Now, please don't think that I* think she thinks you're a liar or exaggerating ...it's just that some folks trust a Dr's words more than ours, even tho WE have the illness.)
I so swear I live in total denial of this DIS-EASE...everyday I think that I am going to feel better tomorrow...it happened once, it CAN happen again...
and every mom wants to believe if you are just Ill our love will just make ya better...all ya need is some good TLC and you will be up and around in NO TIME..
Ok, Now I know that is NOT reality...I know when my baby Tasha is sick I can not just Love her well...but somewhere in me I think if I just take all her stressors away she can concentrate on healing...and she is 27...not commin home to mama everytime she gets sick, sigh...but I am just saying I understand ur Moms denial...best to educate her...send her any and all related Info...I do not know that I would take her to the Dr. or not...there are Dr.s out there that tell ya if you just walk 5 miles a day you will feel better...yupp it is True...very few have a clue...even the ones that are Experts really have No idea...unless they FEEL the pain of it themselves...
ok...so let me have it..
I know it's commin..
good thing I have alot of Butt to chew !!

I definitely agree that taking her with you to the doctor so she can learn more about it is a good idea AFTER you have seen your doctor and let him/her know what is coming. Good luck on this...hugs jilly
