Hi, hope everyone's evening is going well....I am fairly new to all of this and I have questions but first I'll tell you all what has happend in 1 (ONE) year, Dec 29th,06 working residential construction with my brother to suppliment my income (self employeed dog groomer 14 years, slower in the winter months). We had a fender bender, no big deal, SO I THOUGHT. Worked all day felt fine, got a little soar that evening,,,,,got worse,,,,,and worse,,,,,felt like a train wreck by Sunday, New Years Eve %@&^$&%, felt like total crap!!!!,,,,,and I've been hurting everyday since. Whiplash,,,chiropractor, physical therapy, cortizone shots in my neck, massage therapy, steriods, vicodine, flexirl, xanax, anti-depressants, pain all over, fatigue and finially Lyrica!!! Neuroligist ordered blood test, tesed possitive for connective tissue disease (whatever that is)...
My question is....how many with fibromyalgia are on dissability? Thanks, Laceyblue

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
If you are now not working and are planning to apply for SSDI you should do so as soon as possible because the longer you wait, the more quarters worked drop off your record .
I got short term disability and long term disability through my employer for a limited time. They (UNUM) said my "condition" was primarily comprised of "self reported symptoms" and would not cover me for more than two years - a convenient clause in their contract in my humble opinion. I went from full time to part time because of fibro - and I think I will eventually be forced to apply for SSDI - but I want to keep working as long as I can...
